Restoring an Iwill P54TSW Pentium 100 with 36 MB of RAM: a failed BIOS battery, DOS boot disks, hand-wired serial mouse connections, IRQ conflicts, and getting mTCP, Space Simulator, and Quake running.
I created a custom splash generator for an animation project where the client needed a raindrop transition. The app can generate individual splash elements, scatter them into larger animated patterns, preview them as displaced 3D surfaces, and export the result for use in DCC applications such as Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Houdini, and Blender.
I was moving to a new home and found some old computer parts from the early 2000s. Rather than throw them away, I decided to explore how software rasterizers were built in the 1990s and recreate one from scratch.
